Friends,

On July 15 we have an opportunity to turn the page and begin a new chapter in Georgia politics.  With your vote we can together build a MOVEMENT where likeminded people, who care about the environment, are serious about educational reform, recognize the necessity of having affordable healthcare, and realize working class Georgians need to find solace in these hard economic times, can work together to effectuate positive change.

We all have a role to play if Georgia is going to move beyond ideology, regionalism, religious affiliation, or race as the definers of our reality and shapers of our politics.  It is time for BOLD leadership based on a vision of identifying the commonalities we all share as Georgians.  Around the dinner tables across the state there are families trying to determine how to stretch their earnings to cover all their basic needs.  There are mothers who are forced to decide on whether to work or take care of their child because childcare is too expensive or unavailable.  There are students wondering if the education they are receiving will prepare them for a 21st century global economy where math, science, technology, and language will be essential tools for success.  There are communities where people are trapped in a cycle of poverty which leaves them will little hope and vulnerable to exploitation.

That is not the Georgia in my heart nor should it be the one in yours.  I ask the voters of House District 55 to join me on this journey to a better tomorrow.  All it takes is one simple yet profoundly significant act of civic responsibility.
